A bad day in the museum

Well, today everything seemed to be amiss...I was in relatively bad mood cause of a few major (for me) screw-ups with cutting paper on the guillotine. As I was supposed to make 6 notebooks for which Lemmit had said to take it slow, cause they need to be really nice, I managed to screw most of them up. Usually when he just says "make 50 notebooks", they end up as perfect as I can make them...but not this time!

Oh well, just a bad day, which is more intense for me than for other people due to my perfectionism which, in occasions such as this, tends to be a curse rather than a blessing.

Celebrating the Printing Museum's second year of existence

On Saturday, after the Open Studio workshop, there was a party celebrating the Museum's 2nd birthday. Everyone was invited and I have heard it has been quite lively, judging by the FB pictures :).
I, on the other hand, wasn't there all the time cause I was in my room working...but I appeared at some point.

It is important to say that we finally received some acknowledgement from the Tartu council and Estonian Ministry of Culture. Truly great news :)

Other than that, in 5 days I'm starting my end-of-project project and a day after that people from the National Agency are going to visit me and check out my project.

Well, that aside, I won't be sleeping much today, as I have a lot of research left to do :)

Open Studio X

Yesterday, the 2 deputy mayors came here and we did our best to seem busy ( XD )
I believe that the tour went very well cause they were quite content when they were leaving :)

Tomorrow there's the 10th Open Studio on which people can make their own notebooks, print posters, postcards, t-shirts and many other stuff. I am supposed to be there as well, as always, to be of assistance if anybody needs something. So, now I'm gonna rest from screwing with the Bostonpress all day and listen to some music and watch a movie or something :)

Cheers!

The EVS "inspection"

I have learned that, on the 2nd of April, there will be people from the National Agency coming to the Printing Museum to check out how my project is going. I was lucky (?) to have my project chosen as the one they are going to check out. Not only that, but Eesti Noored, the National Agency, has been chosen as the National Agency which will be checked out as well...so I will have 5-6 official people coming to the museum. Well, I'm not exactly worried since I have the answers to all of their questions, since I have been here for 10 months already, but again - I would like to keep the low profile until my project does finish.

Other than that, on Thursday two deputy mayors will come here as well, to have the building and the activities introduced by Lemmit...so in that occasion, all of Trykimuuseum and NELK volunteers should be there.
And that's pretty much all the news I have now.

Cheers!

Mission Complete!

After days of hard work, I have finally completed Lemmit's task - I scanned in 2600 documents, tagged them and edited them so there are no identical copies.
I gave them to Lemmit and with that my task was done. With this I have earned a few days of rest as he said that I can take it easy. So there are no more tasks from him these few upcoming days other than the Open Studio IX workshop.

Now I can fully concentrate on my own research and personal tasks at hand :)
For starters, having a good night sleep will definitely help :D

Night, everyone!

busy, busy, busy

There was a blitz snowstorm today, something I haven't seen in years :)
I was going to the grocery store and was blown away by strong wind and the air filled with snow flakes :). Once I entered the shop, it stopped instantly, hehehe...a strange sight indeed.

These days are really busy for me, constantly running from my room (where I'm doing work which demands internet cause this computer is really fast) to the office (where I have to name 2600 scanned pictures). So, I hardly have a moment to breathe...but I'm ok with it cause I like to work and like to maximize my productivity :)

In 16 days I have to start planning and realizing my end-of-project project and write a text which will be on my YouthPass certificate.

Finishing the scans

I have completed all the scanning, so what I have to do now is to check the names of the files and edit them once more. After that, I will forward that to Lemmit and my job is therefore done.
It has been a lot of work and I spent a fair amount of sleepless night for that cause. But my troubles are near their end.

Soon, I will need to start my end-of-project project, which I have no idea what will it be about, as of yet.
Hopefully, I will be enlightened before that time, so I'll have some ideas with what to start.

Well, I'm gonna grab myself a cup of tea and going back to work :P.
Cheers!

Women's day

Today is the 8th of March, the Women's day.
So, I wish all the best to all the ladies out there I know and respect.
As this is one of the days that belong to you, make sure you make complete use of it :D

And especially for my dear mother:
Mama, sretan ti 8. Mart. Sve najbolje od srca ti zeli tvoj sin, Goran :).

Damn slow internet

After that blackout, I wasn't able to work normally. The scanning is fine, cause it requires no internet, but other stuff I have been doing have been suffering due to a very crappy internet connection these days,
I honestly don't know what's the problem and I'm kinda freaking out cause of it.

I just hope it will be solved soon cause I am running out of time...

Anyways, other than that...the winter has finally come to an end here in Estonia! It became warmer and sunnier - which is nice to see, for a change :D

sleepless nights

The last few days have been really busy for me. I have been working until late in the night (morning) and even now, as I'm writing this, I am awake at 8 a.m. without sleeping at all the previous day.
Well, it's ok as long as I feel I'm doing my best to use up all of my time...so even if I work 19 hours, it doesn't matter :)
Tomorrow we will have an another open studio in the printing museum. I will be there for questions and tutorials :D

I will be going to the store in about 20 minutes cause I wanna get some fresh pastry and buy some ingredients for my home-made lunch later today :)

Cheers ! :D
